The Penn State Soccer Men's and Women's Teams Are Setting Up a Joint Alumni Event in the Spring of 2008!

Ryan Defibaugh, assistant coach for Penn State men's soccer has been speaking with the women's program and they are looking to set up a joint alumni event this coming spring.  As of now they are planning to do this over football's Blue/White Weekend.

At the moment they are looking to see the interest level in Penn State alumni to head back for a weekend of food, supporting the current teams in a spring game, and sharing all of alumni experiences with other alumni and current student-athletes.

Ryan believes it is extremely important for Penn State Soccer alumni to be involved in all of our events, games, and other on-goings in State College.  As a new assistant (2nd year) he's seen what makes Penn State stand out more than any other other university and any other athletic department.  It is important for our current athletes to meet those who have paved the way for them and to understand the pride involved in not only Penn State athletics but in the entire University.

Please forward this on to anyone you think would be interested and I am looking forward to hearing back from you with your thoughts on this event.  Thanks for your time and your help.

Hot off the presses!

There will be an impromptu, kind of informal weekend, where anybody who wants to come to PSU, and watch a varsity soccer game.............ON SEPTEMBER 28-29th, in State College, against Northwestern.  It is always more fun when some of the Alumni are there.....

There is a home soccer game Saturday, 9/29, and I'm sure lots of guys would like to come in Friday night and make a weekend out of it.  It wouldn't surprise me if we end up getting 20 guys there.  Bring the families, come alone......this will be informal, nothing more planned out except for the Saturday night game.  And I know I am going to watch the top 10 ranked Women's Field Hockey team play at home on Sunday 9/30.  My good friend Char Morett has coached the team for years, and there are always nice crowds for their home games.  come and support as well.  Char is a class coach, and the team is solid.......

So that's it for now.   Want to come and join us?  Send me an e-mail to jeffrey.maierhofer@wachoviasec.com.
