Hot off the presses! There will be an impromptu, kind of informal weekend, where anybody who wants to come to PSU, and watch a varsity soccer game.............ON SEPTEMBER 28-29th, in State College, against Northwestern. It is always more fun when some of the Alumni are there..... There is a home soccer game Saturday, 9/29, and I'm sure lots of guys would like to come in Friday night and make a weekend out of it. It wouldn't surprise me if we end up getting 20 guys there. Bring the families, come alone......this will be informal, nothing more planned out except for the Saturday night game. And I know I am going to watch the top 10 ranked Women's Field Hockey team play at home on Sunday 9/30. My good friend Char Morett has coached the team for years, and there are always nice crowds for their home games. come and support as well. Char is a class coach, and the team is solid.......

Some of the boys are going to take a trip to University Park on Wednesday, October 25 to see the present side take on Lehigh University at 7:00 PM at Jeffrey Field. We're looking to meet up at a local pub beforehand to 'organize' ourselves before heading out to Jeffrey! Soccer Journal, the fine magazine published by the country's coaching organization, the NSCAA, published an article about the weekend and Coach Bahr. It included a fine quote from noted soccer alumnus Greg Dennis that I'm sure reflects what all of us think about Coach. Click on the below picture to view a copy of the article.
The movie we've all been waiting for is finally out on DVD! The Miracle Match, formerly known as The Game of Their Lives, is now out. The match, featuring the team that beat England in the 1950 World Cup Finals, centers around the efforts of Coach Bahr and his mates of the day. If 5% of what Coach Bahr did in that movie is true, he was an even more amazing person than even we know!

The book on which the movie is based, The Game of Their Lives, is also out in paperback. I've seen the movie and read the book; the book, as usual, is not really done justice by the movie. The book delves into details about the backgrounds and lives of the players in a way the movie never could.

BIG DAY!! We're up to 86 registrants! Brother act Dave and Rich Reice are in! Mike Ditchfield registers for real! Youngster Steve Morrell is in, as well! There are new photos in the FUN SHOTS section, sent to us by Dave Eltringham and Tony Giaimo. There's also a great photo of Rich Reice in the ACTION section. Tim Unger has also advised that the Atherton is oversold and that suites are your only alternative there. You can either go for a suite or head over to the Days Inn, as noted on our LOGISTICS page!

Liability Waiver Form - IMPORTANT!!!! - All participants in the weekend's activities need to complete the official Liability Release Waiver Form. The folks at Penn State need them no later than April 22, so they need to be in Jerry's hands no later than April 15th... There are a few ways you can do it...
- You can complete the Liability Waiver Form online. Please go to the LIABILITY WAIVER page and scroll down to the form.
- You can download the Liability Waiver Forms online and send them to Jerry Moyer via fax at 610-374-8466. As this is a shared fax, please make sure that you make it to Jerry Moyer's attention.
